  Notes	Norman was a Merchant Seaman on board the Cunard line "Andania II", which at the time of his discharge, dated 24/2/1926, was plying between Hamburg, Southampton and New York and Plymouth, Le Havre, London and New York. Following discharge from the Merchant Service Norman worked for The National Motorists Association and then The Automobile Association. He subsequently secured a job as Head Doorman at the Savoy Hotel where he worked all through the war years, frequently photographed carrying luggage of famous stars of the day. Possibly due to injuries sustained when a hotel door fell on him during the blitz, he subsequently was registered at the hotel as a Disabled Person, though he continued to work until he became ill and died in 1968. The Savoy Hotel still has all Norman's work cards. [1]
