Hier ruhet die Asche von Ernst von Schiller, geb. zu Jena am 11 Julius 1796, gestorben zu Vilich am 29. Mai 1842. Herzensg?te, rechtlichen Sinn und Geistesklarheit erbte er von seinem grossen Vater, sein letzter Wunsch war ein Grab neben dem Grabe seiner Mutter. Must I follow this nightly path? I fear and admit it. I will take it gladly if it leads to Truth and Justice. Here lie the ashes of Ernst von Schiller, born in Jena on 11 July 1796, died in Vilich on 29 May 1842. Great kindness, justice and clarity of mind he inherited from his great father. His last wish was a grave next to that of his mother.
