- Joseph J. Nenning, II, 92, of Fredon Township, died Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at home.
Born in The Bronx, New York, Mr. Nenning lived in Fairview before moving to Fredon Township 22 years ago. He was a United States Army and Air Force veteran, serving from 1935 to 1945. A member of the 459th Bomb Group, Mr. Nenning flew 50 bombing missions on a B-24 Bomber over Europe. He was the owner/operator of Nenning Embroidery Co. in Fairview before his retirement. A member of the American Legion and VFW in Fairview and Newton, Mr. Nenning
was one of the three Grand Marshalls of Newton's 2010 Memorial Day Parade. He was a 53 year member of the Fairview Lions Club, a member of the Knights of Columbus in Newton, where he was honored for his volunteer efforts, and a 60 year member of the Paulinskill Lake Association. Mr. Nenning was a member of Holy Name Society of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church in Fairview and was a tireless supporter of St. Joseph's R.C. Church and School, which he truly loved.

- Annarose?s sister, Clara, helped raise Annarose?s and Joseph?s 4 children along with her husband, John Nenning, the brother of Joseph. The two sisters from Switzerland, married the two Nenning brothers, who originated from Austria. Annarose made her sister Clara promise to help raise her four children. Clara and John had only been married since 13 September 1925 when Annarose passed away on 17 February 1927. Clara and John never had children of their own, and continued to live with the children and with the children?s father for many years until the children were grown. [1]
