Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Fred W. and Florence (Ross) Beare. She was an active member of St. James Anglican Church, Kentville, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the ACW for many years. Later in Halifax, she was a member of St. Peter's Anglican Church, Birch Cove. She was also a member of Kentville Rebekah Lodge. Surviving are a daughter, Helen (Mrs. John Duncan), Lake Cowichan, B.C.; sons, Ronald Marchant and wife Bea, South Lancaster, Ont.; Ken Marchant and wife Ethel, Truro; grandchildren, Kim Watson, Steve Marchant, Ian and Jill Chrysler; three great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry (Chick); sister, Mae; brothers, Fred, Ronald; her twin, Ernest. Cremation has taken place. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Friday, memorial service 2 p.m. Saturday, both in Mattatall's Funeral Home, Truro, Rev. Vernon Cluett officiating, assisted by Rev. Dan Gunn. Burial 3 p.m. Sunday in Oakgrove Cemetery, Kentville. Family flowers only. Donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or St. Peter's Anglican Church, Birch Cove, Halifax.
